In response to bear population increases and the impacts of bear predation on Moose and Caribou, especially on calving grounds in the springtime, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game has liberalized both the hunting season and the bag limits for Brown/Grizzly Bears in Game Management Unit 13. Our hunting season is the longest in North America and there are only 2 small areas in the entire state that allow a hunter to take a Brown/Grizzly Bear every year. Statewide, the bag limit for Brown/Grizzly Bear hunters is one bear every four years. We have decided to complement Fish & Game's reaction with the offering of a special reduced rate and an exceptional opportunity for hunters to take a Brown/Grizzly Bear. In 2008, the cost of our combination hunt; Grizzly Bear, Black Bear and Wolf, is $11,500.00. The spring Brown/Grizzly bear hunt will cost $10,500.00. Given the quality of this hunt and the dedication of our staff, these hunts are truly the finest Bear hunts available in Alaska today. Our intent is to put hunters in the field in the most strategic locations and during the times of the highest success rate as ascertained from accumulated data over the past 20 years. By concentrating on these predators, we will be aiding and enhancing the chances for survival of all prey species including Moose, Caribou and Dall Sheep; critically important assets to a healthy ecosystem.
